Padrón Peppers

peppers

I found gorgeous padróns at the farmers’ market last weekend which are hands down one of my favorite foods.  Sweet, grassy, nutty and occasionally spicy, these yummy peppers have been gobbled up in tapas bars in Spain for years.  I have seen them in more and more markets here in the States, and they can also be ordered online through Happy Quail Farms.  Watch this quick video to see what a snap they are to prepare in the Wood Stone Home oven, roast some for yourself ,  pour a glass of chilled Fino sherry and enjoy!

Wood Stone dealer, KAM Appliances, just released a video that highlights Wood Stone! Our very own Phil Eaton, Mike Brockman and Jeff Dunkin are quoted throughout, customers are interviewed, and our ovens are ablaze in almost every frame! Enjoy!

Wood Stone Home Cooking Class!

It’s been awhile since we have been able to connect with oven owners in our neighborhood so we thought, “What better way to connect with old friends than in front of the oven?”   The complimentary class was a great way to share, engage and reconnect around stone hearth cooking.  Chef Frank Milward hosted the class and showcased some tasty Tapas and Hors d’oeuvres, including: Oysters RockefellerClassic Stuffed MushroomsBBQ Spiced Salmon BitesClams CataplanaSpanish Potato Tortilla with Chive AioliPimentón Garlic Shrimp with Orange OilFlatbread with Romesco Sauce, Bananas Foster Flambé and Pizza with Mahón Cheese and Tarragon, giving our guests some fun and new ideas on how they could expand their entertaining repertoire for the upcoming holiday season.  We truly enjoy spending time with our customers (who we consider part of the Wood Stone family) and hope to host more events like this in the future at the factory and at showrooms across the U.S.[nggallery id=25]

Our newly designed woodstonehomearchive.com is officially live!

After months and months of blood, sweat and tears (ie. in a designer’s world: emails, photos and keen editing eyes) our newly designed woodstonehomearchive.com is officially live! We have done our best to add in fresh, key elements missing from our previous site – from a fancy, interactive recipe section (yum!) to a page just for Industry professionals. We will continue to work at adding new content and visuals over the coming months. We hope you take a moment to click through and then be sure to leave a comment below to tell us what you think… and don’t forget to tell your friends!

Wood Stone Home at Fixtures Living

Wood Stone Home recently made an appearance at Fixtures Living in San Diego. Wood Stone Home Chef,  Ann Rudorf,  prepared all sorts of delicatable treats including BBQ Salmon Bites, Roasted Asparagus spears and, of course, pizzas. During the course of the day, Ann had the privilege of meeting the Stuart family who are currently creating a kitchen around our Bistro Home oven, because in their words, they “take great interest in crafting life around experiences rather than ‘stuff’.”

LOVE that philosophy. And could this family be any cuter? Check out those stuffed-crust pizzzas, too…Nice work, girls!

First Favas of Spring & a Mobile Hearth, Chef Rachell Boucher

At a recent Standards of Excellence event in California, Chef Ann Rudorf “wow’d” the crowd (which included Chef Rachell Boucher) with her Pizza with Minted Fava Beans & Pecorino Romano. Rachell was kind enough to share her thoughts on both Ann’s amazing pizza recipe and our Wood Stone Residential Ovens on her blog post, Drawn to the Kitchen, Mobile Hearth and via a video interview with Ann you can check out below. Thanks for sharing, Rachell!
